It is free. That is the whole page.
Free for the studio, whatever your roster does. There is no plan to be moved onto and no number to compare against itself — which is the point.

There is one plan. Growth cannot move you off it.
Paid add-ons for core features
Events, messaging and costume lists are part of the job, not an upsell.

What the rest of the market charges
Every figure here is quoted from the 2026 comparisons we summarise in the guides — not from our own testing. Check them against the vendors before you decide anything.
| Platform | Published price | How it scales |
|---|---|---|
| Jackrabbit Dance | from ~$49 / month | Tiered by student count; cost climbs meaningfully at 200–400+ students |
| Presently | $49–$149 / month | Starter to Enterprise, plus $9/month add-ons for events, costumes and live chat |
| iClassPro | not published in the roundups | Described by reviewers as the most expensive option |
| Semesterstart | Free | Free for the studio, any roster — in build |
What are you paying now?
Two numbers, no email, no account. Yours stays in the browser — we only count that a price check happened.

Semesterstart is in build, so nothing here is something you can use today. Leave an address and hear from us once, the day studios can move in.
Want to support Semesterstart?
Everything here is free, and that is completely fine. It costs us nothing beyond being on our server, so it costs you nothing.
Want to chip in anyway? It goes straight to keeping these tools free for everyone. Pick an amount, or write your own.
